Well, it has happened. My summer has ended. I go back to work tomorrow at 7:30 a.m! Ugh. How in the world am I going to get out of bed at 6:00 a.m.??? We have pre-planning this week and then the kiddos will arrive on Monday. I already have 25 little ones on my class list! We'll see what happens at registration on Thursday...
Now, on to Book Nooks.
I got this idea from Beth Newingham, too. (I posted about another one of her great ideas...HERE). If you haven't already, you can visit her site by clicking HERE!
I just finished a making a new book nook chart. My previous one had words and pictures. This year I chose to just use pictures...primarily to make the chart smaller. So, basically it is just pictures of all the items (pillows, rugs, crates, stools, chairs, etc.) available for student use during independent reading time. I use clothespins labeled with students' numbers to clip around the chart so the kids know which book nook they get for the day. I move all the clothespins over one space at the end of each day.
I will attach the first sheet to the top of the second sheet. Then the clothespins will rotate down, over, and back up.
Hope everyone is having a great week! :)

Good luck starting the school year again! I will be there in about 2 weeks :-)
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Cute! I have done it opposite- I have the kids' names written on a strip and then the spots are on clothespins that I move down. I love your idea of using pictures, though...and that they're called Book Nooks! Anything that rhymes! Thanks for sharing!

That's genius! Silly question... how do the kiddos use the crates? Do they like to sit in/on them?

Nicole, the kids like to do both! I have seat cushions with them, too. :)
